Sonoma Happenings: 2017 Fall/Winter Update

Where did this past year go?…a question we find ourselves asking around this time every year. I’m sure it’s the same for you, too! This fall and winter have been packed with wonderful work for the Sonoma team. While we push forward full steam into the new year, we are reflecting with gratitude on the great clients and projects we have had. Here are a few highlights from the past few months!

Farmhouse Revival in Brookberry Farm

The forecasters got it right! As hailed by just about every home style trend prediction this time last year, farmhouse style emerged as one of the most coveted design types of 2017 (thanks, House BeautifulHGTVHOUZZSouthern Living, etc.). Sonoma’s Fall Parade home shouted this loud and clear, bringing us the greatest amount of visitors we’ve had yet. More than 2,000 came to tour the Southern Living plan, “Farmhouse Revival”, in the Village at Brookberry Farm. With historic roots reaching back to a circa 1830’s farmhouse, the refreshed plan featured a host of unique elements from its planked wood walls and clean white kitchen, to its clawfoot tubs and vintage console sinks. After touring inside, the gorgeous fall weather invited visitors to linger in its exterior living spaces, including two favorites: the back porch with its remote-controlled retractable screen system, and its signature massive wrap-around front porch. We invite you to read more about the story behind the plan here and the parade home here.

The Village at Brookberry Farm

Sonoma built two other custom homes  in the Village at Brookberry Farm this fall: this charming low-country style home and the other, a nearly finished neoclassical-Southern style home that commands the north end of the Village square.

Phase IV, V,  & VI of Brookberry Farm

We continued another custom home on Summer Hill Way in Phase V of Brookberry Farm and also welcomed new homeowners to our spec home on Windalier Lane in Phase IV. Late in the fall, the developers of Brookberry unveiled  the new upcoming section, Phase VI. This phase will include a section of cluster and villa homes and also a section of traditional sized lots. We look forward to bringing you updates on this section as they develop this spring!Sonoma Building Company, Custom Home, Brookberry Farm

Customs Builds: Clemmons & Yadkinville

While we love the community-centered environment of Brookberry, we also enjoy creating home for our clients on their private land in various locations across the Triad. This fall we had the pleasure of building on three client-owned properties. We began a custom home on a beautiful riverfront location in Yadkin County and also continued work on two homes in Clemmons.  We thoroughly enjoy the process of crafting these homes, as they allow us to uniquely merge our clients’ home aesthetic with their natural surroundings. We look forward to sharing these completed projects with you this year!

Renovations: Winston Salem & Lewisville

A few of our renovations this fall included a whole home renovation and a sunroom addition in the Robinhood Rd. area, and a basement renovation on a home in Lewisville that we had built a couple of years earlier.

A final project of 2017 was a basement completion in the Lewisville community of Tuscany. The clients maximized the potential of their space for their family, while also offering a beautiful retreat for future guests. The finished space includes  a guest bedroom and full bathroom, kitchenette, dance room, home theater room, wine cellar, and exercise room. The results of their vision are stunning, and as we do for all of our clients, we hope that they forge many cherished memories to come within their new space.
